Who We Help
Starfish believes in the potential of all children and the power of healthy parent-child relationships to create long-term positive outcomes for children.
Starfish is focused on helping children under the age of five who live in poverty, youth and teens who are in crisis or at-risk for dropping out of school, and their families and caregivers. We serve more than 10,000 vulnerable children and families each year.
Community Needs Assessment -
Western Wayne County
In 2010, Starfish commissioned an independent regional data collection and analysis firm, Data Driven Detroit, to assess the most pressing needs of families and young children in 14 communities representing Starfish’s primary service area.
Through this comprehensive and objective assessment, we hope to help create a shared understanding of our communities and encourage dialogue on how to move forward in building stronger families and brighter futures for our children.
